Job Description: Results Data Processor

Location: Remote (UK-based preferred, flexible working hours including weekends)
Reports to: Athletic's Project Lead & Vinco's Managing Director

About Vinco / Athletic

Athletic, for which Vinco is a part of, is a specialist media, broadcasting and data company dedicated to track & field athletics. Through AthleticNET, we support federations, event organisers, broadcasters, brands, athletes, and fans with trusted results, rankings, and performance data. Our work spans live event operations, data pipelines, and global reporting partnerships.

Why join us?

  • Be part of the engine that powers trusted athletics results worldwide.
  • Work in a small, agile team where accuracy and initiative matter.
  • Flexible remote work that fits around your schedule.
  • Direct exposure to elite-level competitions, from Track & Field to Road Racing and Cross Country.
  • Opportunity to deepen technical and sport-specific knowledge in a niche, high-impact role.

Role Overview

The Results Data Processor is responsible for preparing, validating, and reporting Track & Field (Athletics), Road Racing, and Cross Country results to AthleticNET and its partners. This role ensures that accurate, timely, and properly formatted results are provided, allowing partners, athletes, and coaches to rely on AthleticNET’s performance data.

You’ll work hands-on with a mix of file types and live-result feeds, checking for completeness and correctness, and liaising with meet hosts and timing teams when issues arise. If you enjoy detailed work, love athletics, and can stay calm when deadlines are tight, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Results Import & Processing

    • Import results from accepted AthleticNET formats, including PDFs, CSVs, TCL files, and AthleticNET custom formats.
    • Monitor and verify auto-posted results from AthleticNET technologies such as RunMeet and AthleticLIVE.
    • Interpret data-entry conventions across multiple timing and meet-management systems.
  • Data Validation & Quality Control

    • Match, clean, and verify divisions, athlete names, teams, and event specifications (implement weights, hurdle heights, etc.) to AthleticNET standards.
    • Map schools, teams, and countries to the correct AthleticNET database entries for clean public data and seamless partner transfers.
    • Identify and correct issues such as missing athletes, incorrect team assignments, wrong implement weights/heights, or malformed results.
    • Create new athlete profiles and bios with appropriate IDs for AthleticNET partners.
  • Communication & Issue Resolution

    • Communicate clearly with meet hosts, timers, and uploaders to resolve data or formatting issues quickly.
    • Escalate unusual or high-impact errors to the operations lead with clear notes and suggested fixes.
    • Support continuous improvement by flagging recurring issues and helping refine standards/documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with Track & Field (Athletics), Road Racing, and Cross Country disciplines and formats.
  • Understanding of timing systems, meet formats, and live results platforms.
  • Ability to interpret and reconcile different result file structures and data-entry conventions.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to data integrity.
  • Reliable, efficient, and able to meet tight timelines — especially on weekends.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with timing or officiating, ideally utilising tools such as FinishLynx, Hy-Tek, or similar meet-management systems.
  • Understanding of World Athletics and NCAA reporting rules and formatting standards.
  • Prior experience handling large datasets or structured sports results workflows.

Personal Qualities

  • Meticulous and methodical with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise when multiple meetings land at once.
  • Clear, direct communicator who enjoys resolving practical problems.
  • Enthusiastic about athletics and the importance of accurate results.

Work Details

  • Rate: £15.50 per hour.
  • Work style: Remote with flexible hours, many of which will need to be on weekends.
  • Timing: Includes weekends; workload peaks during Northern Hemisphere winter and spring.
  • Contract: Seasonal/casual, with potential for extension based on performance and workload.

Application Process

  1. Submit CV + short covering note outlining your relevant experience.
  2. Initial interview (remote).
  3. We may ask for a practical assessment using sample results files.
  4. Internal review.
  5. Reference check + offer.

Want to apply?

Please send your CV and a brief covering note via this form.

We review applications on a rolling basis and will invite suitable candidates to interview as soon as possible.
